EcIW. We all crave success in our lives either it’s about exams, jobs, life matters or other things. We have to work hard for success and the phenomenon of success differs for everyone. One after other, we get to targets and set another one. It is a never-ending series of accomplishments that we look for. Under this post, we are sharing some of the comprehensive duas for success that will lead you to easiness and success. Seek success through these duas The attributes through which we can lead to success are good character and patience. 1. Dua for having a good character We are recognized for our character in our society. So to attain success, the need is to purify our soul and go ahead with a good character. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مُنْكَرَاتِ الأَخْلاَق، وَالأَعْمَال، وَالأَهْوَاء Allahumma inni a’uzu-bika min munkaratil-akhlaq, wal-a’mal, wal-ahwa’ “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from undesirable manners, deeds, and aspirations” Sunan At-Tirmizi The Prophet SAW tells us the importance of good character in the hadith “There is nothing which will be put on the believer’s scale on the Day of Resurrection that is heavier than good morals.” Sunan At-Tirmizi The importance of good character is also mentioned in the Quran قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا وَ قَدْ خَابَ مَنْ دَسَّٮهَا “Successful indeed is the one who purifies their soul, and the one who corrupts it fails.” Surah Ash-Shams, 919-10 So recite these verses more often to seek refuge and please Almighty Allah. 2. Dua for asking patience رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْناَ صَبْراً وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ Rabbana afrigh alaina sabran wa tawaffana Muslimin “Our Lord! Pour out on us patience, and allow us to die as Muslims.” Surah Al-A’raf , 7126 This dua not only intends to ask for patience but it is recited to seek a good ending from Allah SWT. Allah SWT tells us the importance of having patience in order to get success in the Quran, يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اصۡبِرُوۡا وَصَابِرُوۡا وَرَابِطُوۡا وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُوۡنَ “O believers! Patiently endure, persevere, stand on guard, and be mindful of Allah, so you may be successful.” Surah Ali-Imran, 3200 Success is not an overnight thing as it has peaks and valleys. Thus, we need to embrace patience in ourselves and our routines. Patience teaches us great things that are worth the wait. Dua for victory and guidance رَبِّ أَعِنِّي وَلَا تُعِنْ عَلَيَّ، وَانْصُرْنِي وَلَا تَنْصُرْ عَلَيَّ، وَامْكُرْ لِي وَلَا تَمْكُرْ عَلَيَّ، وَاهْدِنِي وَيَسِّرِ الهُدَى إِلَيَّ، وَانْصُرْنِي عَلَى مَنْ بَغَى عَلَيَّ Rabbi a’inni wa-la tu’in alayya, wa-nsurni wa-la tansur alayya, wa-mkur-li wa-la tamkur alayya, wa-hdini wa-yassir-il-huda ilayya, wa-nsurni ala man bagha alayya “My Lord, aid me and do not aid against me, and grant me victory and do not grant victory over me, plan for me and do not plan against me, guide me and facilitate guidance for me, grant me victory over those who transgress against me.” Sunan At-Tirmizi Dua for success against adversity Pregnancy is seen as the most beautiful yet painful experience mothers go through. It’s a blessing for women to become a mother by giving birth to another precious life. In the tough moments of birth, there is a dua that the Prophet SAW taught his beloved daughter Sayyidah Fatimah Az-Zahra RA to recite during extreme pain or any trouble. يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ، بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ، أَصْلِحلِي شَأْنِ كُلَّهُ، وَ لَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْن Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum, birahmatika astaghitsu, aslih li sha’ni kullahu, wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfata aini “O The Ever-Living, O The Self-Subsisting, I seek help through Your Mercy. Set right all my affairs and do not leave me to myself even for the blinking of an eye a moment.” Sunan An-Nasai’ Dua for success in an interview and presentation رَبِّي اِشْرَحْلِي صَدْرِي وَ يَسِّرْلِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي Rabbi-isyrahli sadri, wa yassir li amri, wahlul uqdatam-min lisaani yafqahu qawli “My Lord! Uplift my heart for me, and ease for me my task. And remove the impediment from my tongue, so that they may understand my speech.” Surah Ta-Ha, 2025-28 Dua for success in business اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً Allahumma inni as-aluka ilman naafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa amalan mutaqabbalan “O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision and acceptable deeds.” Sunan Ibn Majah Dua for a good family and peaceful marriage Among all duas for success, the Holy Quran gives us a beneficial dua for a good family so that it can be our support and best source of happiness. رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْواجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةً أَعْيُنِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا للْمُتَّقِينَ إمَامَا Rabbana hablana min azwajina wa zurriyatina qurrota ayunina waj’alna lil muttaqina imama. “Our Lord! Bless us with spouses and offspring who will be the joy of our hearts, and make us models for the righteous” Surah Al Furqan, 2574 Success comes from Allah. What better dua to make than to ask Allah s. to make us and our descendants devoted to Him. رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَتِنَا أُمَّةً مُّسْلِمَةَ لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيْم Rabbana waj’alna muslimaini laka wa min dzurriyyatinaa ummatan-muslimatal-laka, wa arina manasikana wa tub alaina, innaka anta-tawwabu-rrahim “Our Lord, make us devoted to You; make our descendants into a community devoted to You. Show us how to worship and accept our repentance, for You are the Ever Relenting, the Most Merciful.” Surah Al-Baqarah, 2128 Dua for children’s success رَبِّي هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِنَ Rabbi habli minas-solihin “My Lord, grant me a child from among the righteous” Surah As-Saffat, 37100 رَبّي هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنْكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَة إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاء Rabbi habli milladunka zurriyatan toyyibatan innaka sami ud-dua’ “My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication” Surah Ali-Imran, 338 These are supplications by Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Zakariyya AS to attain pious children. A man leaves three things in this world upon passing on, as stated in the hadith of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW إذا مات ابن آدم انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاث صدقة جارية ،أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له Prophet Muhammad SAW said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things Sadaqah Jariyah ceaseless charity; a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him for the deceased.” Sahih Muslim Dua for memory and success in exams اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَودِعُكَ مَا قَرَأتُ وَمَا حَفِظْتُ وَمَا تَعَلَّمْتُ فَرْدُدْه لِي إِلَيَّ عِنْدَ حَاجَتِي إِلَيْهِ ، إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِير وَحَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الوَكِيل Allahumma inni astaudi’uka ma qara’tu wa ma hafiztu wa ma ta’allamtu, fardudhu li ilayya inda haajati, innaka ala kulli syai-in qadir, wa hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakil. “O Allah! I entrust You with what I have read and what I have memorized and I have studied. Bring it back to me when I am in need of it. Truly you have power over all things. Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.” Dua for knowledge and success رَبِّي هَبْ لِي حُكْماً و أَلحِقْني بِالصَّالِحِينَ، وَاجْعَل لِِّي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الآخِرِينَ، وَ اجْعَلْنِي مِنْ وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيم Rabbi habli hukman wa al-hiqni bis salihin, waj-’al li lisana sidqin fil-aakhirin, waj-’alni min waratha-ti jannatin-naa’im. My Lord! bestow wisdom on me and make me among the righteous. Bless me with honourable mention among later generations and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. Surah Ash-Shu’ara, 2683-85 Dua for ease and success in life اللهُمَّ لاَ سَهْلَ إِلَا مَا جَعَلْتَهَ سَهْلاً، وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلاً Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja’altahu sahla, wa anta taj’alul-hazna iza syi’ta sahla. “O Allah, there is no ease except in that which You have made easy and You make the difficulty if You wish, easy.” Sahih Ibn Hibban Duas for success and victory اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا مُفْلِحِينَ Allahumma-ja’alna muflihin “O Allah make us among the successful people” اللهُمَّ اجْعَل خَيْرَ عُمُرِي آخِرُهُ وَ خَيْرَ عَمَلِي خَوَاتِمَهُ وَ اجْعَلْ خَيْرَ أيَّامِي يَوْمَ أَلْقَاكَ Allahumma-ja’alna khaira umri akhirahu wa khaira amali khawatimahu waj-’al ayyami yawma alqaka “O Allah, make the best part of my life, the last part, the best deed, my last deed and the best day, is the day I meet You” Sunan An-Nasai’ Dua for mercy, forgiveness and success in the hereafter اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مُوجِباتِ رحْمتِكَ، وَعزَائمَ مغفِرتِكَ، والسَّلامَةَ مِن كُلِّ إِثمٍ، والغَنِيمَةَ مِن كُلِّ بِرٍ، وَالفَوْزَ بالجَنَّةِ، وَالنَّجاةَ مِنَ النَّارِ Allahumma inni as-aluka mujbati rahmatik, wa-’aza-ima maghfiratik, wassalamata min kulli ithm, wal-ghanimata min kulli birr, wal-fauza bil-jannati, wan-najati minannar “O Allah. I beg You for that which incites Your Mercy and the means of Your forgiveness, safety from every sin, the benefit from every good deed, success in attaining Jannah, and deliverance from Fire.” Mustadrak Al-Hakim Dua for success in this world and the hereafter رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَ فِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَ قِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ Rabbana atina fiddunia hasanatan wa fil aakhirati hasanatan wa qina azabannar “Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.” Surah Al-Baqarah 201 The Prophet SAW mentioned عِظَمُ الْجَزَاءِ مَعَ عِظَمِ الْبَلاَءِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا أَحَبَّ قَوْمًا ابْتَلاَهُمْ فَمَنْ رَضِيَ فَلَهُ الرِّضَا وَمَنْ سَخِطَ فَلَهُ السُّخْطُ “The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. When Allah loves a people He tests them. Whoever accepts that wins His pleasure but whoever is discontent with that earns His wrath.” Sunan Ibn Majah We face trials in our lives. These trials make us realize our sins and weaknesses and lead us closer to Almighty Allah. We have to hold a firm belief that all our achievements and trials are from Almighty Allah and nothing happens without His will. So go ahead with the element of Tawaakal in your heart and strive for success in life. فَاِذَا عَزَمۡتَ فَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى اللّٰهِؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُحِبُّ الۡمُتَوَكِّلِيۡنَ “And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely upon Him.” Surah Ali-’Imran, 3159 These are all duas for success in different aspects of life. Successful Muslims are those who have attained Allah SWT’s pleasure in both worlds. By pleasing Allah, we get to the feeling of contentment and peace that is ultimately a name of success. Perbuatan ini biasa dilakukan sebagian individu jahiliyah -sebelum Islam hinggap-. Di sini Rasulullah shallallahu alaihi wa sallam menuntunkan kita beribadat dengan doa ini. Terkandung makna di dalamnya, bahwa Engkau ya Allah di tangan-Mu kebaikan secara langsung, seperti hujan angin, merecup-tumbuhan, alias yang tidak langsung seperti sebab-sebab yang datangnya mulai sejak arah Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala melalui makhluk-Nya. Contohnya seseorang memberimu harta ataupun hadiah dan sebagainya. Ini adalah fungsi terbit Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala akan tetapi melintasi perantara yang Sang pencipta Subhanahu wa Ta’ala jadikan bak sebab. Yang jelas semua manfaat itu dari Almalik Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Berpangkal tahmid ini kelihatan pantangan menggagalkan sebuah keperluan/bagan karena seekor penis atau sesuatu yang dia tatap ataupun nan dia dengar. Moga ia bertawakkal kepada Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Thiyarah yakni bagian berasal kesyirikan. Ke-Esa-an Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala dengan resan uluhiyah yang diibadahi, tempat bersandar dan bergantung sebagaimana Dia Maha Esa dalam Mencipta dan Mengatur. Bahwa thiyarah di masa ini lain kurang terhadap burung saja. Sewaktu-waktu dengan nilai tertentu, tahun tertentu, terlepas tertentu dan sebagainya. Semoga Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala memberikan kita kemudahan untuk beramal dengan doa ini dan mengebumikan suku bangsa muslimin pecah polah thiyarah. HFZ-AAW
